Contra Mestra Alcione is from the group Angola Dobrada and it will be her first time here in London. We are pleased to be able to host this workshop as she is a great Angoleira and a fantastic musician. Don’t miss this chance to train with her! All of the details are below:

Edinburgh

Come for the last workshop of M. Carlão during his UK Tour (March/April) before he head off to Rio.

This will be a great opportunity also to gather with some of the Scotish Capoeiristas and groups from Edinburgh and around.

Group Capoeira Senzala Scotland is proud to present another great Capoeira workshop, this time with Mestre Carlão (from Kabula Arts, London – Rio)
It will be the last workshop of Mestre Carlão during his UK Tour before he heads off to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Capoeira Angola in Largo das Neves, Santa Teresa RJ

Capoeira ART BRASIL is pleased to host a day of workshops with Mestre Carlao from Kabula (Rio/London).
Mestre Carlao has being practising Capoeira Angola since 1982 when he started with Mestres Marco Aurelio and Jose Carlos one of the few capoeiristas that M. Moraes titled in Rio de Janeiro – and M. Armando Teixeira.

Developing a unique style of teaching using the movements, theatre, philosophy, and music of the Afro-Brazilian art-form Capoeira, his workshops and classes are designed to reconnect and refine the creative and intuitive dimensions of our minds and bodies.

This will be a great opportunity to train with Mestre Carlao whilst he’s in the UK and bring together capoeiristas from around the Midlands.

They are an exquisite collective of musicians from different backgrounds from Rio Carnival, combining of  trombones, trompetes and brazilian precussion. They are Orquestra Voadora (OV)

The performance will take place in already mythical Passing Clouds in Dalston!

Orquestra Voadora

Orquestra Voadora for the first time in Europe!!

They are an ecletic mix from Brazil and around the world interpreted in a completely unique brass band format, stylistic influences include Samba, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Frevo, and Maracatu among others.

And they are coming to London as well!!!!

And they will be also with us!!!!!!!!!

Kabula is hosting a unique Workshop with Orquestra Voadora Carnival Bloco on Sunday the 8th April.

What they will be teaching? BRASS AND PERCUSSION

It’s the first time they are coming to London to play at Guanabara and to teach what they use to play in Rio Carnival…

So, the plan is: you go to the show to the Guanabara for the show, you dance, you sweat, you see a lot what this guys are doing in Rio carnival and then ….

Then you come to do the workshop with this fantastic musicians from Rio de Janeiro.

Finally, after the workshop, on Sunday the 8th, we are going to Passing Clouds for the Passing Clouds  Sunday Jam and then God knows what kind of music will be come from this gathering??!!
