17th of July 2010. With a spectacular showcase from the performers in Udderbelly’s summer show Brazil! Brazil! at the start of the day, drop into The Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall to take part in capoeira workshops targeted at children, adults and those with some experience of capoeira and see the beautiful art form of martial arts and dance brought to life through demonstrations and performances. The day will finish with a celebratory capoeira roda from some of best of the London capoeira community.

Kabula Arts & Culture and Mestre Carlao runs three workshops for different skill levels.

11.30am – (Advanced) Designed for those who have already been practicing capoeira for more than three years.

12.40pm – (Intermediate) Designed for those with enough skills to do some of the complex sequences of capoeira angola.

1.30pm – (Beginners) Designed for those that are starting and those that have never done capoeira before, this workshop will be repeated at 2.50pm.

3:30pm – Capoeira Performance – Berimbau Creation Myth followed by a “Roda de Capoeira”.

Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
